Melbourne left fielder Ishtaq Abbasi played a vital role in his team's 8-6 conquest of Karachi. He went 2 for 4 with a double and was hit by a pitch. He scored 2 times and drove in 3 for Melbourne. Melbourne reliever Asif bin Wazir snagged the win, upping his record to 1-0. Minh-Khan Nguyen-Khoa shouldered the loss. Félix Soto closed it out for his 1st save.

Melbourne took advantage of an error in the bottom of the sixth inning. The game was tied, 6-6, when Josh Bence hit a run-scoring single that was misplayed. It put the Meteors in front, 7-6.

Meteors manager Bob Meteors wasn't all too pleased, despite the win, telling reporters that the performance highlighted some clear areas for improvement moving forward. He refused to be more specific, however. "I'm not gonna publicize our weaknesses," he said. "That stuff stays in the clubhouse."

The Meteors improved to 19-22.
