The Melbourne Meteors and Tokyo Fitzies obliged fans hoping for an exciting game.

In a tight contest at Meteor Crater, the Melbourne Meteors edged the Tokyo Fitzies by the score of 6-5. Melbourne third baseman Bobby Wheeler, who blasted 1 home run, was a key contributor. Melbourne is 76-67 and Tokyo, with the loss, 73-70.

Wheeler had a game-changing home run in the bottom of the seventh. On a 1-0 fastball from Pedro Peña, he banged a 3-run home run to right, giving the Meteors a 6-5 lead. It was the 21st home run of the year for Wheeler.

"We ground out the win," said Wheeler. "That's all that matters."
