Coqui Improve to 75-69 with 5-2 Win
The Puerto Rico Coqui got a marvelous performance from pitcher Awinagh Ezeamaka. The right-hander kept the Havana offense from ever getting much traction. The result was an impressive 5-2 Puerto Rico victory at Ballpark of San Juan. The winner was Ezeamaka. He threw 7.0 innings of 4-hit ball. The loser was Deo Sudeshna. The Coqui go to 75-69, putting them third in the Americas Baseball League Latin American Division.

Tarut, Oman-born Samir bin Umar came through in the clutch. In the bottom of the seventh, with runners on 2nd and 3rd and the Coqui trailing 2-1, he hit a 2-run single to center to put Puerto Rico on top.

"It was a solid team effort," bin Umar said. "That's usually what it takes to win."
