Stars Take Home 2-1 Win Over Detroit
|
Detroit wasted an exceptional performance by pitcher Guo-fang Ming, falling to the Los Angeles Stars, 2-1. Ming threw 7.0 innings of 6-hit ball for the losing team. Tom Davis recorded the save, making him 2 for 4. With the win, Los Angeles has a record of 65-84. Detroit falls to 46-103.
Los Angeles used a timely hit from Felipe Ontiveros to get the win. The pinch hitter stroked a run-scoring double in the top of the seventh inning to put the Stars ahead, 2-1. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but it was a difference-maker.
Los Angeles manager Alex G commended his team for "doing what it takes to win."
