The Santo Domingo Palmchats went home winners at Estadio Santo Domingo, thanks in large part to starter Jaime Torres. Torres stifled the Rio de Janeiro Jaguars, enabling Santo Domingo to grab the 7-1 win. Torres picked up the win for Santo Domingo, going 6.2 innings. He gave up 1 run on 4 hits. He now sports a record of 13-9. The setback makes Rio de Janeiro 85-65.

George Robinson had a big 2-run double for the Palmchats in the bottom of the second inning. With Santo Domingo leading 2-0 and runners on 1st and 2nd, he got a fastball from former first round draft pick José Torres and swatted a double to center. It was his 4th double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Palmchats ahead, 4-0.

Robinson attributed the win to his team's "dogged determination."
