Havana Dolphins starter Rens Buizer hurled his team past the Rio de Janeiro Jaguars, 7-2. The first-place Dolphins, at 87-64, lead the Americas Baseball League Latin American Division by 2 games.

Havana won the game in part because of Raúl Carranza. The second baseman ripped a 2-run home run in the top of the sixth inning to put the Dolphins ahead, 3-1. For the game, Carranza had 1 double and 1 home run in 5 at-bats.

"I tried to establish all my pitches early," said Buizer.
