The Rome Generals topped the Black Forest Foxes, 5-2, with left fielder Edgardo Román playing a big role. Román went 3-4 with 2 home runs, while adding 4 RBI and scoring twice for the Generals in the win. Pierre Levasseur got the win, improving to 8-16. He held the Foxes to 2 runs on 6 hits over 7.2 innings, while striking out 4 and walking 0. Getting the save was Roberto Lugo, his 37th.

Early in the game, Román had a 2-run home run for Rome. It was his 23rd home run of the season and put the Generals on top, 2-0.

"I thought we played a nice game," Román told the Rome Observer. "Good pitching, timely hitting, it was all there."
