Emperors Slap 5-3 Loss on Daegu

The Beijing Emperors beat the Daegu Monks, 5-3, at Monks Stadium. Balagra Surupa, in particular, was impressive. He went 3 for 3 with 3 singles and 2 walks. Bing-zhang Chin earned the win after being summoned from the bullpen. The right-hander allowed no runs on 2 hits in 3.2 innings. He upped his record to 11-3. Gia-Long Hoang collected save number 31.
Who knows how it would've ended, had it not been for Owen Rabbetts? The former first round draft pick Rabbetts stroked a run-scoring sacrifice fly in the top of the eighth inning to put Beijing up, 5-3. For the game, he was 2 for 4, including 1 double and 1 single.
"We've been playing some good baseball," Rabbetts told the Beijing News. "We're aggressive and focused on what we're going to do on the field and getting it done."
This win makes it 7 in a row for Beijing.
