Generals Dealt 6-5 Loss by Cairo
|
In a tight contest at Pharaohs Ballpark, the Cairo Pharaohs edged the Rome Generals by the score of 6-5. Cairo second baseman Wattas Mwenda, who blasted 1 home run, was a key contributor. The second-place Pharaohs have won 5 in a row.
With Cairo leading 5-0 in the bottom of the fifth, Mwenda hit a run-scoring single off Rome hurler Elikai Ipo. It was the 167th hit of the season for Mwenda and put his team ahead, 6-0.
"This team is real focused right now," said Cairo manager J Stell.
