In a tight contest at Thunderdome, the Mexico City Aztecs edged the El Paso Thunderbirds by the score of 6-5. Mexico City right fielder Ángel Santos, who blasted 1 home run, was a key contributor. Hayato Tsuchida earned the save for Mexico City, his 14th. Mexico City has a record of 27-16, placing them first in the Americas Baseball League North American Division.

It could have been a different outcome for Mexico City, had it not been for Cam Abrams, the 26-year old catcher . Abrams contributed a run-scoring sacrifice fly in the top of the eighth inning to put Mexico City up, 6-4.
