Havana and Santo Domingo took Mother Nature's best shot and still managed to complete their ballgame.

Getting a good performance from left fielder Shafiq Joyo, the Havana Dolphins defeated the Santo Domingo Palmchats, 6-2. Joyo was 2-3 with a home run and a walk, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once for the Dolphins. Rens Buizer earned the win for Havana. He lasted 6 innings, allowing 2 runs on 7 hits, while striking out 4. With the win, he raised his record to 18-7.

With Havana trailing 2-1 in the bottom of the fourth, Joyo hit a fastball from Talal Yunus for a 2-run home run. It was his 17th home run of the season and put the Dolphins ahead, 3-2.

Joyo said his team "played with a purpose."

Havana is now 88-68, while Santo Domingo is 72-84.
