Streaking Pharaohs Win Another One, 8-4
|
The Cairo Pharaohs extended their winning streak.
The Cairo Pharaohs withstood an impressive performance by Rome shortstop Dharr bin Suhayb to defeat the Generals, 8-4, at Pharaohs Ballpark. bin Suhayb was 2-3 with 2 singles and a walk, while scoring 2 times. Cairo reliever Tatsukichi Shibata picked up the win, upping his record to 8-2. Jorge Rosales was saddled with the loss.
Jerry Johnson, who won the Rookie of the Year Award in 2152, helped out the Cairo cause in the bottom of the fifth inning with a run-scoring walk. For the game, the pinch hitter drew 1 walk in his only trip to the plate.
"Guys seem to be putting together some really nice at-bats right now," said Pharaohs manager J Stell.
The Pharaohs have now reeled off 6 straight wins.
