Though he had a terrific game, Jack Mitchell could not prevent his team, the Santo Domingo Palmchats, from absorbing a loss. Havana won the game, 7-6. Mitchell was 3 for 3 with 3 singles and 2 walks, while scoring 2 times. Santo Domingo falls to 3-2.

António González went 1-2 with a walk. He drove in 2 runs for Havana. The former first overall pick had a key at-bat in the top of the eighth. With no one out and runners on 2nd and 3rd, he broke a 6-6 tie with a run-scoring sacrifice fly off Qian-fu Jiang. It was his 3rd RBI of the season.

"You can't hate how you win if you win," said Havana skipper Dan Farnell.
