Palmchats Make Aztecs 2-1 Losers
|
Mexico City pitcher Enreecko Vergara gave the Palmchats all they could handle, but in the end, Santo Domingo left Ballpark of Mexico City with a win, 2-1. Vergara allowed 2 runs on 3 hits over 7.1 innings. The win belonged to Gabriel Cruz in relief. His record improves to 2-0. Enreecko Vergara took the loss for Mexico City. Earning his 10th save of the year was Kil-hyun Kim.
Miguel Dueñas came through with a big-time hit for Santo Domingo. The pinch hitter smacked a 2-run home run in the top of the seventh inning to give his team the lead, 2-1. It was his only hit, but it was clutch.
"Good ballgame," said Mexico City manager Square Drive. "But we came up on the short end."
The Aztecs, now 27-18, have lost 4 straight.
