Thunderbirds Get Clutch 3-1 Win
The El Paso Thunderbirds used a great performance from Dae-il Kim, who finished 5th in the ABL in wins with 15 in 2149, to beat the Detroit Blue Gills, 3-1, at Thunderdome. Chong-yee Ming, who finished 3rd in the ABL in saves with 38 in 2147, earned the win in relief. The right-hander allowed no runs on no hits in 2 innings. He upped his record to 3-1. The 'W' lifts El Paso's record to 26-20.

El Paso got a knockout punch from Ahmed bin Jabir. The pinch hitter hammered a 2-run home run in the bottom of the 11th inning to win the game. It might've been his only hit, but it decided the outcome.

bin Jabir called the win a testament to his team's "grit."
