Behind a solid performance from right fielder Abraha Saqr, the El Paso Thunderbirds defeated the Rio de Janeiro Jaguars, 8-5. Saqr was 2-3 with a home run and a walk, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once for the Thunderbirds. Gregor Finlater notched his 1st save of the season. At 22-26, the Thunderbirds find themselves in third place in the Americas Baseball League North American Division.

The Thunderbirds got a big hit from left fielder Dennis Inarez. In the bottom of the sixth, Inarez smacked a 3-run home run off Rio de Janeiro pitcher Anuhlada Phadkar. It was his 9th home run of the season. Suddenly, the Thunderbirds were ahead, 6-5.

"Nice to see our side come away with the win," Inarez said after the game.
