The Rome Generals, despite a fine performance by Beijing pitcher Mathieu Richet, grabbed a 3-2 win at The Colosseum. Richet allowed 1 run over 8 innings. Ray Brooks earned the win after being brought in from the bullpen. The right-hander allowed no runs on 1 hit in 3 innings. His record is now 1-0. Today's win puts Rome at 23-25, while Beijing falls to 32-16.
The Generals got a clutch hit from second baseman Jean-Michel Martinez. In the bottom of the 12th, he delivered a run-scoring single to win the game for the Generals.
"There's nothing like the buzz of a walk-off win," Martinez said.
