Karachi Falcons starter Susumu Okamoto was in midseason form, as he helped his team beat the Daegu Monks, 3-1. Okamoto, now 2-6, was the winner. In 6.2 innings, he gave up 7 hits, while striking out 10, walking 0, and allowing 1 run. Kaleab Bourrouag earned the save for Karachi, his 7th of the year.

There was more than one reason the Falcons beat the Monks, but Okamoto's big at-bat in the bottom of the second was an important factor. He staked his team to a 2-0 lead when he hit a 2-run single.

"That's how you're going to be successful," said Falcons manager Slu Baseball. "It starts with pitching and it will always be pitching."

Karachi now owns a record of 21-27.
