Thunderbirds Use Late Score to Top Beefs, 5-4
|
The El Paso Thunderbirds faced a tough opponent in Chicago pitcher Kigeri Muroki, but did just enough to pull out the victory at Beefs Stadium by a final score of 5-4. Muroki went 6.2 innings and allowed 1 run. Gregor Finlater, now 1-1, was credited with the win in 0.2 innings of relief. He allowed 1 run on 4 hits, while striking out 1 and walking 0. Timothy Adamczak wrapped it up, recording his 9th save.
Tobias Schoeeser provided a timely hit. The El Paso second baseman delivered a bases-clearing triple in the top of the eighth inning to put the Thunderbirds on top, 4-3. It was his only hit in the game, but he made it count.
"I'll probably toss and turn tonight," Chicago manager Dill On said, following the tough loss.
By defeating Chicago, the third-place Thunderbirds improved to 23-26.
