Good production from center fielder Naruhiko Goto helped the Rio de Janeiro Jaguars topple the Sao Paulo Toucans, 8-3. Goto went 3-4 with a home run and a double, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 3 for the Jaguars. Rio de Janeiro reliever In-kwon Yun picked up the win, while Alfonso Vásquez took the loss for Sao Paulo. The Jaguars saw their win-loss record go to 25-24. At the same time, the Toucans fell to 23-26.

Rio de Janeiro used the timely hitting of Lino Bispo to seize the win. The left fielder stroked a 2-run single in the top of the eighth inning to put the Jaguars on top, 5-2. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
