The Tokyo Fitzies overcame a good performance by Daegu first baseman Pie-qi Liao to knock off Daegu, 5-3, at Monks Stadium. Liao went 4 for 4 with a home run and 3 singles. Britt Leonard closed it out for Tokyo, earning his 20th save. Daegu, at 19-31, has lost 4 straight.

Arun Virinchi had a big 2-run home run for the Fitzies in the top of the third inning. With Tokyo leading 2-0 and a runner on 1st, he sized up a sinker from 24-year old right-handed pitcher Sam Li and punished it. The result was his 13th home run of the season, which put the Fitzies on top, 4-0.

"That's what makes it fun -- everybody's jacked up because of the way we've been winning," said Tokyo manager .
