Beefs Handle Thunderbirds, Nab 7-1 Win
|
The Chicago Beefs and El Paso Thunderbirds completed their game despite the inclement weather.
Chicago Beefs starter La`nh Vu was locked-in. He led his team to a win over the El Paso Thunderbirds, 7-1. Vu, now 6-3, was the winner. In 6.1 innings, he gave up 2 hits, while striking out 7, walking 2, and allowing no runs.
Gebre Batrawi, who is tied for 10th in the ABL in doubles with 12, chipped in a 3-run home run for Chicago in the bottom of the sixth. For the game, the third baseman had 2 hits in 4 at-bats with 1 home run, 1 single, 1 run scored, and 4 runs batted in.
"I thought we competed really well," said Beefs manager Dill On. "I thought the energy was really good."
With the win, Chicago upped its record to 29-22.
