Patrick Widhoezl led the Chicago Beefs to a shutout victory, 8-0, over the Mexico City Aztecs at Ballpark of Mexico City.

"My pitching coach told me before the game just to bear down and focus," Widhoezl recalled later. "He said no one was going to hit me if I'm throwing a good breaking ball with good location."

Widhoezl yielded 6 hits and had 3 strikeouts and 1 walk in the standout performance.

"I thought he put the ball where he wanted to," Mexico City manager Square Drive said. "And that's just about the whole secret to pitching."

This year, Widhoezl has gone 5-4 with an ERA of 3.59 and has 40 strikeouts in 72.2 innings.
