The Chicago Beefs rode a solid performance from 35-year-old starting pitcher La`nh Vu to a win, beating the El Paso Thunderbirds, 7-1, at Beefs Stadium. The win gives Chicago a record of 5-1.

Rodrige Siqueira had a big 2-run double for the Beefs in the bottom of the sixth inning. With Chicago leading 1-0 and runners on 1st and 2nd, he got a fastball from Tien Dung Long, who led the IBL in innings pitched with 233.1 in 2144, and swatted a double to right. It was his 3rd double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Beefs ahead, 3-0.

Siqueira attributed the win to his team's "focus and intensity."
