Late Rally by Palmchats Secures 3-2 Win
The Santo Domingo Palmchats got a strong performance from pitcher Jaime Torres, who stymied the Havana offense en route to a win, 3-2, at Estadio Santo Domingo. Torres, who is tied for 5th in the ABL in innings pitched with 82.1, went the distance for Santo Domingo. He gave up 2 runs on 3 hits. The win gives Santo Domingo a season record of 29-24.

The decisive blow was delivered by Damian England in the bottom of the ninth when he hit a run-scoring double off 25-year old left-handed pitcher Ferdinando Franchitti to win the game for Santo Domingo. The home crowd went nuts.

"The only difference is executing pitches and not executing pitches," said Torres. "When you don't execute, you get beat. When you execute, you usually give your team a chance to win."
