Muroki, Generals Wallop Fleur-de-Lis, 10-1
|
The Rome Generals used an offensive barrage to beat the Paris Fleur-de-Lis, 10-1, at The Colosseum. Sami Muroki, who led the IBL in batting average with .369 in 2150, led the way, going 4-for-4 for Rome. The Generals saw their win-loss record go to 25-28. At the same time, the Fleur-de-Lis fell to 24-29.
Walter Cole drew 2 walks in 5 trips to the plate for Rome. The 25-year old third baseman had a key at-bat in the bottom of the third. With one out and the bases loaded, he broke a 1-1 tie with a run-scoring ground out off Abdur Razzaq Marwat. It was his 20th RBI of the season.
Paris manager Jus L. Hart called the blowout loss "not what we had in mind."
