With 8-1 Win, Fitzies Improve to 35-18
|
The home crowd had a good time watching the Karachi Falcons and Tokyo Fitzies get after it.
The 4-hit performance of Khaldun Kanja, who was drafted in the 3rd round of the 2148 draft, helped the Tokyo Fitzies beat the Karachi Falcons, 8-1. José Sánchez got the win, improving to 5-1. He pitched 6.2 innings, giving up 5 hits and 1 run, while striking out 7 and walking 4.
In the bottom of the sixth, Tokyo shortstop Ari Lueger had a productive at-bat. With the bases loaded and one out, Lueger stroked a 2-run single to center. It made the score 4-1, Tokyo. For the game, he was 2-4 with 2 singles, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once.
Lueger attributed the win to "a well-rounded effort by the whole team."
