The Melbourne Meteors earned a win at Meteor Crater, stopping the Cairo Pharaohs, 4-2. Starting pitcher Borya Jevakhov played a big role in his team's success. The first-place Pharaohs now sit at 28-25.

Melbourne took a 3-2 lead on Manny Rodríguez's 13th double of the season. The run-scoring double, which Rodríguez hit in the bottom of the eighth, left Cairo pitcher Carlos Mitchinson visibly frustrated.

Said losing manager J Stell: "The at-bats, obviously, needed to be better."
