In a low-scoring game between the Puerto Rico Coqui and the Los Angeles Stars, pitcher Manuel Rivera was masterful on the mound. The Puerto Rico left-hander spearheaded his team's 2-1 win. With the win, Puerto Rico goes to 34-21, while the Stars fall to 23-32.

Gerald Merrick was the walk-off hero for Puerto Rico. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Coqui third baseman hit a dramatic run-scoring single to send the teams home.

"We found a way to win tonight," Merrick said.
