El Paso beat Havana in a rain-soaked ballgame.

The El Paso Thunderbirds wiggled past the Havana Dolphins, 2-1, in 11 innings at El Estadio Latinoamericano. The win was highlighted by the performance of El Paso pitcher Husien Karamera. Getting the save was George Simmons, his 1st.

Tien Dung Long's at-bat with one out in the top of the 11th was critical. The El Paso pinch hitter hit a sacrifice fly, to put his team on top, 2-1. Runs were at a premium and this one was huge.

"For the most part, I made good pitches when I needed to," said Long.

El Paso, at 27-29, holds down third place in the Americas Baseball League North American Division.
