Jaguars Win, Brooks has 3 hits
|
A 4-RBI performance from first baseman Leo Brooks, who is a five-time All-Star, led the Rio de Janeiro Jaguars to a win over the Mexico City Aztecs, 11-4. Javier Villegas got the win, improving to 5-4. He held the Aztecs to 2 runs on 5 hits over 5 innings, while striking out 6 and walking 2. With the win, Rio de Janeiro raised its record to 30-27.
Lich Huynh had a big 3-run home run for the Jaguars in the top of the second inning. With Rio de Janeiro leading 2-0 and runners on 1st and 2nd, he sized up a fastball from Jin-u Kim, who finished 2nd in the ABL in innings pitched with 232.2 in 2140, and punished it. The result was his 6th home run of the season, which put the Jaguars on top, 5-0.
"We came out aggressive," said Jaguars manager Echo 127. "We came out swinging the bats."
