Beefs Dealt 5-1 Loss by Havana
|
Not everyone stuck through the 42-minute rain delay, but those who did went home happy.
The Havana Dolphins received a sterling performance from starting pitcher Keitaro Ito, allowing them to shoot down the Chicago Beefs, 5-1. The winner was Ito. He threw 8.2 innings of 2-hit ball. The loser was Ethan Vergette.
Jesús Torres came through for Havana when he hit a 2-run single in the bottom of the first. With the bases loaded, he hit a two-strike forkball to left-center field, staking his team to a 2-0 lead.
"I like the vibe in the clubhouse after a win," said Torres. "It sure beats the alternative."
The Dolphins improved their record to 24-33 with the win over Chicago.
