Toucans Roll Over Beefs, 10-4
|
At Beefs Stadium, the Chicago Beefs and Sao Paulo Toucans were greeted by an enthusiastic crowd.
The Sao Paulo Toucans had to overcome a big game from Chicago third baseman Gebre Batrawi to leave Beefs Stadium with a victory. And they did, winning, 10-4. Batrawi went 3 for 3 with a triple, a double, and 2 walks. António Moreno got the win, improving to 6-4. He worked 6.2 innings, giving up 4 runs on 7 hits, while striking out 4 and walking 4.
Sao Paulo third baseman Chung Tai helped the Toucans go up, 5-4, in the top of the sixth inning. With the game tied, Tai hit a run-scoring single off Chicago pitcher Kigeri Muroki.
"It's nice to step up when your team needs you," said Tai.
The Toucans improved their record to 29-30 by beating Chicago.
