The Rio de Janeiro Jaguars banked on José Torres and he turned in a masterful performance. The left-hander kept the Detroit hitters in check. The final score was 2-1, Jaguars. The Rio de Janeiro win streak is now 3 games.
The game was at a stalemate until right fielder Lich Huynh came to bat in the bottom of the eighth. Facing Detroit pitcher Rade Perisic, he hit a 1-2 slider for a run-scoring single. It was a game-changer, putting Rio de Janeiro on top, 2-1.
"Really good pitchers have that ability to raise their game when they need to," said Rio de Janeiro manager Echo 127.
