The rain did not keep Santo Domingo and El Paso from finishing their game.

The Santo Domingo Palmchats beat the El Paso Thunderbirds, 6-0. Santo Domingo pitcher and Varkaus, Finland, native Johannes Nieminen led the way. The win elevated the Palmchats to 32-28.

Lorenzo Ríos had a big 2-run double for the Palmchats in the bottom of the third inning. With Santo Domingo leading 1-0 and runners on 2nd and 3rd, he got a fastball from Madhavrao Satyen, who is tied for 10th in the ABL in complete games with 1, and swatted a double to right-center. It was his 9th double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Palmchats ahead, 3-0.

"Johannes is still learning," said Palmchats manager Huck L. Berry. "The sky's the limit for him."
