Rio de Janeiro turned a fine outing from starter Jhong-shun Lee into a victory over the Detroit Blue Gills at Rio de Janeiro Grounds. The final score was 3-2. Tony Jiménez picked up the win in relief. His record improves to 3-0. Keisuke Aoki suffered the loss. The Jaguars, now 33-27, have won 4 in a row.
The decisive blow was delivered by Hsin Lang in the bottom of the ninth when he hit a solo home run off 24-year old right-handed pitcher Keisuke Aoki to win the game for Rio de Janeiro. The home crowd went nuts.
