Fans of the Rome Generals who packed the stands for the home opener were rewarded with a Rome win over the visiting Oslo Voyageurs, 6-5, in 10 innings. Miguel Salazar started for the home team against Mujtaba Mahmud Khel. Mujtaba Mahmud Khel earned accolades for his performance.

The Generals got a clutch hit from third baseman Paulo Casco. In the bottom of the tenth, he delivered a run-scoring single to win the game for the Generals.

"I'm glad I could get it done when the game was in the balance," Casco said in his postgame press conference.
