A 3-RBI performance from Tutu Karim, who finished 5th in the ABL in doubles with 45 in 2150, helped the Sao Paulo Toucans beat the El Paso Thunderbirds, 8-6. Sao Paulo reliever Anthony Dalton picked up the win, raising his record to 4-2. Tien Dung Long was tagged with the loss. Guido Spano closed it out for his 12th save.
In the top of the eighth, the Toucans grabbed the lead when Karim hit his 4th home run of the season. The 3-run home run off Tien Dung Long made it 8-5, Sao Paulo.
"Nice to see our side come away with the win," Karim said after the game.
The Toucans go to 30-32, putting them last in the Americas Baseball League Latin American Division.
