Dolphins Pick Up 4-1 Win Against Mexico City
|
Jorge Marrero, who is tied for 8th in the ABL in wins with 6, never let the Aztecs get in a groove. The left-hander used his bread and butter, his curveball, to pitch the Dolphins to a win, 4-1. Kwan-yew Lei earned the save, his 14th, for the Dolphins. With the win, the Dolphins have a record of 36-26.
Havana catcher Jacky Blondel contributed a timely at-bat in the bottom of the third. With two down, he hit a fastball to center field for a 2-run single. It was his 65th hit of the season and put the Dolphins ahead, 2-0.
"You've got to ride the highs and the lows in baseball in order to succeed," Marrero told the Havana News. "Right now I'm feeling good, but that don't mean squat for tomorrow."
