Thunderbirds Score Late to Upend Toucans, 6-4
The El Paso Thunderbirds dealt the Sao Paulo Toucans a 6-4 loss at Thunderdome. Abraha Saqr, who leads the ABL with a .591 slugging percentage, was the star on offense. He went 1 for 1 with a home run, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. El Paso reliever Gregor Finlater picked up the win, upping his record to 2-1. Øivind Ulland was saddled with the loss. Timothy Adamczak closed it out for his 12th save.

Saqr had a game-changing home run in the bottom of the eighth. On a 0-1 fastball from Øivind Ulland, he banged a 3-run home run to left, giving the Thunderbirds a 6-3 lead. It was the 14th home run of the year for Saqr.

"I keep on showing up every day and trying to put up good at-bats and find good pitches to hit," said Saqr.

After today's action, El Paso sits at 30-33; Sao Paulo slips to 30-33.
