Palmchats Win with Late Heroics
The Santo Domingo Palmchats racked up a win at Estadio Santo Domingo, bumping off the Rio de Janeiro Jaguars, 6-5, in 11 innings. Jaime Torres, who started for Santo Domingo, pitched effectively for his team. Umer Ufanisi snagged the win in relief. The left-hander allowed no runs on no hits over 2 innings. He's now 1-1 on the season. Rio de Janeiro, with the loss, is still a robust 6-1.

The decisive blow was delivered by Artie Riley in the bottom of the 11th when he hit a solo home run off 35-year old right-handed pitcher Luis Gutiérrez to win the game for Santo Domingo. The home crowd went nuts.

"Winning in the last at-bat, there's nothing else like it," said Torres.
