Though he had a stellar game, Cal Givens could not prevent his team, the Oslo Voyageurs, from losing, 6-5, to the Rome Generals. Givens went 3-4 with a triple and 2 singles, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. Rome reliever Efren Paculdar picked up the win, upping his record to 2-0. Hayato Tsuchida absorbed the loss. The Voyageurs, at 34-32, have lost 4 in a row.

The decisive blow was delivered by Ismael Esparza in the bottom of the ninth when he hit a 2-run double off six-time All-Star Hayato Tsuchida to win the game for Rome. The home crowd went nuts.

"This wasn't a good win," said Esparza. "It was a great win."
