The skies opened up and the rain fell at Fitzies Stadium.

Tokyo got a first-rate effort from pitcher José Sánchez, who frustrated Daegu hitters en route to a 2-0 Fitzies triumph at Fitzies Stadium. Sánchez, the winner, moves to 7-1. He threw 5 innings of 4-hit ball, while fanning 4 and giving up 3 walks.

Daegu had runners on 1st and 2nd in the top of the eighth. With two out, Mario González stood at the plate, hoping to find a gap. Instead, he struck out. The score remained 2-0, Tokyo. The Monks never could mount a comeback.

The Fitzies improved their record to 41-28 by beating Daegu.
