Melbourne and Beijing duked it out and the Meteors came out victorious.

The Melbourne Meteors besoiled an otherwise fine performance by Beijing first baseman Yi-lin Han by beating the Emperors, 8-6, at The Bird's Nest. Han was 3-5 with a home run and 2 singles, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. Melbourne now sits at 33-36, while Beijing falls to 46-23.

Melbourne used a clutch at-bat from Josh Bence to capture the win. The left fielder hammered a 3-run home run in the top of the sixth inning to put the Meteors ahead, 5-2. It was his lone hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a humdinger.

"We got the victory," said Bence. "That's all that matters at the end of the day."
