Detroit got a big-time effort from pitcher Mu-sang Kim, but it wasn't enough to keep the Los Angeles Stars from winning the game, 7-2. Kim threw 7.0 innings of 5-hit ball for the losing team. Getting the save was Clodio Castanhedo, his 14th. The current losing streak for Detroit has reached 6 games.
Los Angeles used the timely hitting of Roushdy Nkosi to capture the win. The second baseman stroked a run-scoring double in the top of the eighth inning to put the Stars on top, 3-1. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but he made it count.
"From the last whatever, five, six, seven games, there's really only one way to go and that's up," said losing manager Detroit Dave.
