The Mexico City Aztecs could not turn a fine performance from pitcher Jesús Flores into a win. Instead, the Chicago Beefs prevailed, 2-1. Flores threw 6.0 innings of 4-hit ball. La`nh Vu got the win, improving to 9-4. He worked 6 innings, giving up 1 run on 7 hits, while striking out 2 and walking 2. Tiljad Mbizi earned the save, his 19th.

The Beefs got a big at-bat from second baseman Rodrige Siqueira. For the game, Siqueira went 1-4 with a home run. In the bottom of the sixth, with the bases empty, he stroked a solo home run. His 9th home run of the season gave Chicago a 2-1 lead.

"Tough loss," said Mexico City manager Square Drive. "Tough one to swallow."

Chicago goes to 44-27. The win puts them 4 games up in their division.
