Mathieu Richet, who finished 2nd in the IBL in wins with 16 in 2151, was in top form in a tight contest between Beijing and Tokyo. The Emperors left-hander helped his team beat the Fitzies, 3-1. Gia-Long Hoang closed it out for Beijing, earning his 12th save. Beijing has an impressive 48-24 record.

Beijing used the hitting of Jack Mitchell to pick up the win. The left fielder clubbed a 2-run home run in the top of the first inning to put the Emperors on top, 2-0. For the game, Mitchell had 1 home run and 1 single in 5 at-bats.

"We put some tough at-bats on some tough pitches," said Beijing manager Kev In.
