Meteors Suffer 6-2 Loss to Karachi
|
Karachi Falcons starter Susumu Okamoto led his team to victory over the Melbourne Meteors, 6-2. The right-hander was locked-in. In 7.2 innings, Okamoto surrendered 5 hits, while striking out 6 and walking 1. He allowed 2 runs. The Falcons, at 33-39, sit in 4th place in the Intercontinental Baseball League Asian Division.
The Falcons got a big at-bat from right fielder Rafael Leeder. For the game, Leeder was 1-4 with a triple. He drove in 2 runs. In the bottom of the first, with runners on 1st and 2nd, he stroked a 2-run triple. His 2nd triple of the season gave Karachi a 2-0 lead.
Karachi manager Slu Baseball commended his team for exhibiting "no shortage of effort."
