Divisional Series Game 1 Victory for Torres and Rio de Janeiro
José Torres and the Rio de Janeiro Jaguars opened the Divisional Series in brilliant fashion, shutting out the visiting Mexico City Aztecs at Rio de Janeiro Grounds, 6-0, and securing an early 1-0 lead in the best-of-7 series. Torres, the Jaguars left-hander, threw 7.1 innings of shutout ball.

Torres tossed 95 pitches over 7.1 innings to clinch the win for the Jaguars. The left-hander allowed just 1 hit, while racking up 8 strikeouts in the game.

"It was a good day but I'm not letting my guard down," Torres said. "I'll let my guard down as soon as someone puts a big, fat championship ring on my finger."

The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Rio de Janeiro Grounds in Rio de Janeiro.
