Christian Perron proved that point at Rio de Janeiro Grounds, leading the Rio de Janeiro Jaguars to a solid, 5-0 win over the Havana Dolphins in Game 1 of the Divisional Series. The 40-year-old threw 5.1 innings of shutout ball. The win allowed the Jaguars to take a 1-0 lead in the best-of-7 series with the Dolphins.

Tong Chin, the Rio de Janeiro left fielder, contributed a run-scoring single in the bottom of the fourth inning to make the score 1-0, Jaguars. For the game, Chin was 1 for 2 with a walk.

"Things broke our way today and that's great," Jaguars manager Echo 127 said. "It's important, though, to stay focused and not pat yourself on the back too much. We aren't done yet."

The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Rio de Janeiro Grounds in Rio de Janeiro.
